THE "e" ISLAND

Picture

This project is about us making an island that we had to create. What it consists is that first of we had to make a rough draft in our sketchbook. It was not all that easy we had to have at least ten elements about things that we enjoy of our life, to do this our teacher gave us several questions that we had to answer that were about ourselves. Then we made a symbol for each of the things that we answered. After we were done creating this rough draft we went to the final draft that could only be made with paint. So all we had to do was just redo the draft on the final paper.
One of the greatest challenges that i had in this project was that in the final draft we could only use paint. The reason why this became a challenge was because the paint scattered all over the map and made it harder for me to keep a neat map. Also each time i used a different color i had to wait a day so the paint would dry and not mess up the other parts of my map. My strength while doing this map was that i became very good drawing my symbols so that made it easier for me to draw them without messing up.

"THE HALF DRAWN FACE"

Picture

This project I call it the half drawn face. As you can see the title describes the project that was that we had to draw the half of our picture. First what we did was that we had our picture taken. Then we had to cut the image of ourselves in half. One half we would paste in another paper and the other half we had to throw it away. then we had to draw the 2nd part of our face.
To be honest in this project i did not have many challenges only one that does not have to do too much with the actual drawing. Time, for me this was the element that made me stress over this project. The reason for this was that i left it to the day before and i almost did not finish. My strength in this was that i might not be the greatest artist but i did pretty well on this drawing one. Since Ms. Lopez gave us different techniques to do this project it became easier to do this without doing anything to mess up the whole project.

"THE MOLDED FACE"

This project for me was the funnest one to do. The reason why is because we got to use all kinds of materials like clay, paints, etc. The made we made it was that first we had to apply each method that we learned to making faces like the proportion method. After we did this we started making the nose hair, eyes, etc. After the heads shape and features were done we got out the paint and started to paint all of the head with the appropriate colors. After all of that was done we then wrote or name at the bottom of the neck and it was done. The goal of this project was for us to apply the things that we learned in the class and use the same techniques as the one for the half drawn face.
The big challenge that i had from this project was that each day that we went to work on it the clay would be either too dry or too wet. What this caused was that it made it very difficult to work with the clay while i was trying to mold it so it would become a head shape and its features too. My strength was that i became very good at drawing or sculpturing faces so it really helped me get through the project with little trouble and finish it on time. But overall i think i did a good job with this face because i applied what we learned in class.
